When speaking informally, a speaker might drop sounds from the ends of words. For example, an English speaker might say "kiddin" instead of "kidding".

Don't try to represent this with spelling. If you recognize that a word is being spoken in a shortened, informal way, transcribe it using its standard spelling.

Incorrect: I thought he was just kiddin

Correct: I thought he was just kidding
